All,
I have been troubleshooting HASP issues for quite some time and one of the biggest problems I’ve seen in the past is when the license manager issues a license to a user and it won’t release it. The issue occurs very infrequently but when it does our main focus is to get the licenses back into production – not troubleshoot. All things considered, the quickest way to get the license(s) released is to restart the License Manger Service on the server. This method reclaims all the licenses but the problem is that anyone currently in CADWorx gets “kicked off”. Not the optimum method for retrieving 1 out of 20 licenses!
Today, we saw the issue occur at a customer and we had some time to troubleshoot. When we inspected the key with the AKS Monitor, it showed a few licenses timed out at zero seconds but not released from their respective machines. After doing some detective work, it now appears that the licenses are just not being released properly by the CADWorx Workstation. Instead of restarting the license manager – in effect kicking everyone off – just restart and shutdown CADWorx/CAESAR II on those machines indicating a zero timeout and still holding a license. This process releases the license properly and frees it up for someone else.
Thank you to Gary K. for figuring out this long standing issue!

It took some time but the CADWorx Blog site is finally 100% back up and running! Thanks for all the compliments on the page load times – the new host really helped with decreasing the time it took the site to load! Obviously, our primary goal is that everyone gets some value from the website. We will continue to monitor but I think we have a long term solution!
We just posted the two past CADWorx and CAESAR II webinars:

Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Software Development continues to excel. Any new features in the queue or reported issues in the CADWorx and Analysis Software lineup are quickly released to the customer base with either a Hot Fix, Service Pack or Revision to maintain the ‘Production Ready’ Moniker!
The latest release is CADWorx fieldPIPE Professional 2013 R1 including the following features, functions and fixes:
It is now possible to enter insulation thickness in the CADWorx fieldPipe – CloudWorx Professional Interface palette. If you enter an insulation value of 0.0, then the pipe is drawn at the actual size. If the insulation is larger than 0.0, then the pipe radius is calculated as the actual radius minus the insulation. Enter the insulation size in the Insulation box as shown below.
Previously, the ribbon would only show the English language when the program was set to a different language. This has been fixed in SP1 so that the ribbon displays in the selected language.
When saving a fieldPipe drawing to the desktop, the program no longer crashes.
You are now able to use a fence to insert a valve on the point cloud in the drawing when using Insert a valve in the CADWorx fieldPipe – CloudWorx Professional Interface. Previously, you had to use a single pick and the fence would not select the piping.
You can now access Cyclone utilities on the CADWorx fieldPipe ribbon. Utilities, such as Configure Databases, now work correctly.
