Over time we receive a lot of hardware recommendation requests.  Currently, ECE Design recommends the following performance configuration:

• Windows 7 64 bit OS
• Processor: i7 Intel Processor- (any i7 processor will give good performance, let your budget be your guide)
• Hard Drive: Solid State Hard Drive for OS and Programs, (may be cost prohibitive)…OR…Raid configured hard drives, Raid 0 if drives are well backed up or set to Raid 5 if not.
• Video: NVidia with at least 1GB of Memory
• Minimum 12 GB RAM (more is better- buy as much as budget will allow)
• 26″ or larger monitor with 2nd monitor for other apps

That said, we still run CADWorx on Lenovo Thinkpad T400 units and some older Dell Latitudes without issue…
